What happens when we place connection at the center of all thinking in the field of DeafBlindness?

Communication is always about connection; Dr. Suzanne Zeedyk, a specialist in parent-infant communication, will encourage us think about ways to establish bonds through relationship building, and positive interactions. She will discuss how early life experiences can go on to shape children’s biology and brain architecture, and review evidence showing that relationships are central to healthy human functioning.  Our understanding of this basic science will allow us to reflect on whether the ideas of connection are sufficiently embedded at the core thinking within the field of DeafBlindness – and if not, what we need to do to overcome any gaps we find.
