April 2018 News!
Happy April Everyone!
Here’s a few things we thought you might enjoy checking out related to Family Engagement . . .
1) Every Friday, NCDB posts a “Friday Family Fun Fact” to the NCDB Facebook page that are neat ideas/experiences collected from families across the DB network. If you want to catch up on previous posts, we collect them in an archive for easy viewing. If you are interested in sharing a Fun Fact, contact Megan Cote – firstname.lastname@example.org.
2) Wondering about all of the cool activities state deaf-blind projects are doing with families? Check out the journey that the Family Engagement Coordinator scarf has made since November 2016 to family events all over the network. If you work for a state deaf-blind project and have an upcoming training, let us know and we can add you to the list to feature the scarf at your event. Again, you can email Megan Cote – email@example.com.
3) Are you a parent thinking about planning next steps for your child and family? CHARTING the LifeCourse is a framework that was developed to help individuals with disabilities and families at any age or stage of life think about what they need to know, identify how to find or develop supports, and discover what it takes to live the lives they want to live. You may find the resources helpful in your planning.
