Online Parent/Family Training: The Role of Interveners in Educational Settings (September 21-October 26)

Family Engagement

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to call your attention to an upcoming event: The format of the course is primarily self-study, giving participants the opportunity to learn from the comfort of their own homes, at their convenience, and on their schedules. Patti McGowan from NFADB and I also offer individual support via telephone and e-mail and group support via web-conferencing. In addition, the web-conferencing meetings (and discussion boards within the module) allow participants to provide support to and learn from each other—e.g., to share their experiences of interacting with school personnel and strategies to address the impact of deaf-blindness on the child and family.

This will be the 6th time we've offered this training and feedback from past participants has indicated that they have found it very helpful in expanding their knowledge of interveners. If you are a parent or other family member of a child or youth with deaf-blindness, we would love to have you join us!
