Interpreter/Paraprofessional for a Child who is Deafblind

The Washington State School for the Blind has an opening for an Interpreter/Paraprofessional (Job Title: Deaf Interpreter 3).

The first part of the duties of this position, reads as follows:

"The Interpreter/Paraprofessional serves as a bridge to the world for a child who is deafblind, which allows the student to develop a sense of trust and security that will enable her/him to learn. It is important for the incumbent to be knowledgeable in a variety of techniques to be used to support a student with combined vision and hearing loss to make progress in the general curriculum as much as possible. Specific duties are individualized according to the needs of the child/student and profile of the current educational placement."
