This informal assessment of literacy behaviors and skills can be used with any student who is deaf-blind, including those at the earliest stages of communication. It is intended to be used in conjunction with the Literacy for Children with Combined Vision and Hearing Loss website (which provides strategies and resources for literacy instruction) and indicates which section of the site teachers should start with for a given student.
