Slide-A-Round Math Manipulatives
Slide-A-Round Math manipulatives are designed to increase student achievement and improve performance on standardized tests. Because the creator, an inclusion special education teacher, believes "one shoe does not fit all," teachers of the visually impaired and specialists are given the freedom to customize the colors to meet the individual needs for every student. Specialists can also apply tactile aids as an instructional strategy to provide accommodations in students' Individual Education Plans. Slide-A-Round Math manipulatives are available in low vision and braille in 24" and 32" sizes. On November 20, 2012, American Printing House for the Blind posted on their Fred's Head blog, "This is a great product for students who are blind and visually impaired. It gives tactile representation to concepts in mathematics." For more information and complimentary handouts, please visit www.slidearoundmath.com.
