OHOA Intervener Learning Modules Registration

The Open Hands Open Access (OHOA) Intervener Learning Modules are a national resource designed to increase awareness, knowledge, and skills related to intervention for students who are deaf-blind and are being served in educational settings (ages 3 through 21). By completing this form, you will gain access to 27 unhosted modules.

After you register, it will take at least 2 business days to receive your Moodle login credentials via the email that you provide. An NCDB staff member manually enters your information into the Moodle system to make the system more secure.

Please put me in contact with my state deaf-blind project.
Your state deaf-blind project will receive notification that you have registered for the OHOA modules.

Terms of Use

These modules were designed to be used as part of comprehensive intervener training programs offered by qualified agencies or institutions. On their own, they do not serve as an intervener training program.

Other uses include:

  • Training about deaf-blindness offered by state deaf-blind projects for teachers, paraeducators, families, and related service providers.
  • Self-study, at your own pace, unhosted.

Important points to keep in mind when using the modules for self-study:

  1. You will be working in a set of public modules. Other users will be able to see that you are enrolled and read any comments you post to discussion boards.
  2. The modules include assignments and quizzes. You are free to complete these, but they will not be graded or reviewed.

All users are responsible for understanding and managing their own privacy settings. Upon registration you will receive information about the privacy settings available in OHOA.

If you are using the modules with a state deaf-blind project for professional development or as part of college coursework, instead of using this registration form, contact your state deaf-blind project coordinator or college instructor to be enrolled in the appropriate modules.

Use of the modules occurs within a learning management system called Moodle, which tracks user interactions with the coursework (e.g., time spent in a module, sections of a module you have viewed). Instructors and NCDB administrators have access to this information, but do not share it with third parties.

By registering you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these terms.

If you are using the modules with your State Deaf-Blind project for professional development or if you are working with a college instructor who is using the modules in her courses, please talk to that contact person to be registered into the specific set of modules that is being used within your state or college.
