Happy Holidays Everyone!

As we kick off the holiday season, we thought it would be nice to share some resources with you about the importance of touch in the lives of children who are deaf-blind.  We hope you will share these with families and service providers.  All 3 are available in both English and Spanish.

1) Harmonious Interactions – https://nationaldb.org/library/page/2060

This is a four page fact sheet that explains the value of creating meaningful interactions with children with deaf-blindness.

2) Talking the Language of the Hands to the Hands - https://nationaldb.org/library/page/1930

This is a 12 page article written by Babara Miles that describes the importance of the hands for the person who is deaf-blind.

3)  The Importance of Touch in Parent-Infant Bondinghttp://www.tsbvi.edu/seehear/fall00/infantbonding.htm

This is an article from TSBVI about the important of touch in the early years.

Here’s to creating lots of happy memories over the holidays!
