Telling your Child's Story
March 2021
Families are the true experts on their children with deafblindness.
They know the medical, emotional, and developmental history of their child and understand their communication better than anyone else. As such, families play an important role in compiling and sharing their child’s story. Telling that story well can help ensure that your child’s educational goals are aligned with their abilities and the vision you have for their future. It will also help you be a more effective advocate for your child and family. Parents and other family members can use these resources to help craft a story of a child’s life to share with others.
