Helen Keller National Center Summer Youth Programs
The Helen Keller National Center has five summer programs for young adults ages 16-23 that provide new insights into college and career options. All programs are held at their headquarters in Sands Point, New York.
1. Summer Youth Vocational Program – Participants will gain work readiness skills, create resumes, and learn from successful DeafBlind leaders.
Session I: June 2 - June 27, 2025 (Application Deadline: April 4, 2025)
Session II: July 14 - August 8, 2025 (Application Deadline: May 9, 2025)
2. M~POWER (My Pursuit of Work, Empowerment & Resources) – Explore college and career paths while meeting new friends.
August 11 - August 15, 2025 (Application Deadline: June 13, 2025)
3. College Bound Program – A structured program that prepares youth for college life, covering everything from classroom accommodations to self-advocacy.
July 7 - July 11, 2025 (Application Deadline: May 2, 2025)
4. Braille Adventure – Enhance braille skills in a fun, interactive environment with experienced leaders in the DeafBlind community.
July 28 - August 1, 2025 (Application Deadline: May 23, 2025)
5. Summer Assessment Program 4, 6, or 8-week options – Teaches skills in career exploration, adaptive technology, and self-advocacy while connecting with peers.
Available for various durations in June, July, and August 2025
